Last ride for this week today and I made it count! The ride was a solo flat 54 miler (courtesy of the fast guys of RLSCC) and without having heart rate measurements, I believe I was for 2.5 hours in my sweet-spot zone. Maybe this is not entirely accurate, but the pace definitely felt reasonably hard and left me completely exhausted at the end. The result was to knock 11 mins off my previous personal best on this route and a very satisfactory average speed of 19.5 mph. Overall it was a very good training ride before a compulsory 4 day break from cycling.
