Today’s ride was a solo take on another of our club’s standard routes, namely Southam normal. The route is around 25 miles mostly flat, with 2-3 little kicks of elevation. The aim was to do a threshold ride and indeed I believe I stayed in threshold effort levels for around 70 mins (basically I gave everything I had for 70 mins). Given Saturday’s very tough ride I expected to feel tired, however I felt good throughout the ride and as a result the average pace was quite good for my ability, namely 19.6 mph.
I would like to thank Rapha for very kindly sending me for free a cup of leather balsam for my cycling gloves! The customer service of Rapha has been exceptional once more!
